Tomato paste products Mutti Tesco concentrated

Tomato paste is one of the various tomato products, but it can be called the best one. It is available commercially in every store nowadays, once, double, or triple concentrated made by various brands such as Mutti, Hunt’s, Tesco, Contadina, Cento, and so many others.

The concentration level of tomato paste (the amount of dry matter in the product) ranges from a minimum of 36 percent for triple concentrate to a minimum of 7 percent for tomato purée. The tomato paste described in this article needs to be 28–30% concentrated and have a long shelf life.

The completed product must be composed of natural total soluble solids that are derived from mature, essentially sound red tomatoes (Lycopersicon/Lycopersicum esculentum P. Mill), strained or otherwise processed to remove the bulk of coarse or hard materials.

The item must not include any genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or radioactive materials. It cannot include any microorganism-derived chemicals or any other dangerous or harmful substances, such as antinutritional elements, heavy metals, pesticide residues, or toxins at concentrations that pose a risk to human health.

The product must be tested for microbiological, chemical, toxic, heavy metal, and pesticide residues in order to be deemed “fit for human consumption.” The provider must provide any necessary lab results or declarations.

One big container is preferred over many tiny ones.

Food imports are usually subject to approval from the national authorities based on their national standards; be sure to review them before making a purchase.

Prior to making a significant purchase, it is important to thoroughly consider the impact on the local, national, or regional market regarding availability and costs.

An extended love tale

Our company’s goal is to bring forth the tomato’s best qualities. For 120 years, we have been propelled by this passion. Even today, we continue to discover new things about this amazing fruit and are continuously working to improve every element of its production to create the greatest tomato-based products we can. It all started with…

An actual pioneer in 1850

In using the sidereal approach, which is now employed in organic farming, Giovanni Mutti (1805–1894) was a farmer ahead of his time. It accounts for how the sun and moon affect the growth of plants. Giovanni eventually used the crop rotation strategy after conducting a number of tests.

As a result, less natural and synthetic fertilizers were required while the soil was able to replenish its nutrients. Crop rotation is a crucial agricultural technique even today, proving that time-honored rural customs continue to be the key to growing the greatest tomatoes.

EVEN MORE PASSIONATE

current firm

Mutti tomato paste double concentrated

When you require a robust and powerful tomato flavor, tomato paste is the best option. It combines well with our other ingredients to enhance the taste and texture of the tomato.

The many forms of double concentration are useful for adding color, taste, and texture to food. It is ideal for foods that need extremely extended cooking durations, such as ragùs, stews, and one-pot meals.

It is also great for dishes with a quick cooking time, such as sauces à la volée and side sauces. For 1 kilogram of Double Concentrate, 5.5 kg of fresh tomatoes are needed.

Concentrato is the tomato’s concentrated essence. The concentration of the product determines the strength of the paste, with Triple concentrate having the most concentrated tomato taste.

After selection, the finest tomatoes are crushed and cooked to around 65 degrees Celsius. By using centrifugal force, the juice is separated from the fruit’s skin, seeds, and cellulose.

In stainless steel containers, vacuum evaporation is used for sealing. Before the food undergoes pasteurization, a temperature of 65 degrees Celsius helps to maintain its flavor qualities.

The paste is suitable for packaging after being heated to around 92 degrees Celsius to guarantee its microbiological stability. Empty packages are cleaned with steam to eliminate contaminants. After filling, water is used to chill the containers.

Instructions

  • Finely mince the roughly chopped veggies in a food processor; put aside in a separate dish.
  • In a large, heavy-bottomed soup pot, heat olive oil and sauté garlic and onion over medium heat until the onions are translucent. Stir in Mutti® Tomato Paste until it becomes slightly browned. Add the remaining veggies and heat, tossing often, until covered with oil and wilted.

Reduce the heat to low and combine the Mutti® Whole Peeled Tomatoes with the other ingredients. Slowly simmer for 1 hour and a half, stirring often, until the sauce is quite thick and a deep color. Add a tiny quantity of water as required if the sauce turns too thick too fast. When the sauce is complete, leave it aside while you boil the pasta or refrigerate it overnight in an airtight container.

  • Just before boiling the pasta, warm the sauce moderately. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the cooking water.

Add the pasta that has been drained to the sauce and stir for two minutes over low heat, ensuring that the spaghetti does not cling to the bottom of the pan. If the sauce is too thick, add a few tablespoons of pasta water at a time. If desired, mound the pasta on the serving plate and sprinkle with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese before serving.

  • If preferred, add freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese over the noodle mound and serve the veggie spaghetti bolognese immediately.
